Norwegian outfit AIRBAG refer to 2005 as being their formative year. These high school friends have been playing together under this moniker before that as well - they were actually formed in 1994, and the current line-up has ben in place since 1999 - but for the band 2005 heralds the start, or perhaps fresh start, as a band.
They released their first EP the same year, Sounds That I Hear. Blending influences from acts such as a-ha, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd, they managed to create a sonic expression defying normal genre convencions - and allowing the release to be freely downloadable from their website was a smart move: In the first few months more than 10.000 people got the EP, and Airbag established a good-sized, international fanbase.
In 2007 a second EP was issued, Safetree. Like the previous production this one too was freely downloadable, and further extended their popularity among a internet-savvy fanbase. 2007 also saw Airbag's debut as a live outfit, opening for acts like Pineapple Thief, Gazpacho and Riverside.
In 2009 they were signed by Karisma Records, and their debut album Identity was issued. This time as a regular commercial production. The release of their debut effort saw the band withdraw their previous EPs, as many of the tracks on those efforts found their way onto their first full length venture - albeit in more or less refined versions.
The current line-up is Asle Tostrup (vocals) Bjorn Riis (guitars, vocals), Jorgen Hagen (keyboards), Anders Hovdan (bass) and Joachim Slikker (drums).

I'm thinking this Norwegian band named themselves after the RADIOHEAD song because they play in that same dreamy,atmospheric style.Other bands i thought of were BAUER,NOSOUND,ANATHEMA(latest one) and FRAKTAL. I do like this style of music and these guys do it very well for the most part. AIRBAG are(were?) a PINK FLOYD tribute band called THE PINK FLOYD EXPERIENCE. I heard the song "Steal My Soul" last fall and was so impressed i knew i had to check this album out. "Prelude" opens with the sound of a ticking clock as synths wash in.The guitar before 2 minutes replaces the clock as synths continue. The soundscape is soaked with atmosphere.So good. "No Escape" is my least favourite only because it's less atmospheric and poppier.It settles with vocals quickly but the contrasts between the laid back and fuller sections continue. "Safe Like You" is similar to the previous song but a little better.A beat to start as synths roll in then vocals.Another dreamy track. "Steal My Soul" is a top three for me.Very spacey as keys come in then vocals.Great sound before 3 minutes as we get a thick atmospheric haze briefly.Strummed guitar and organ follow.The guitar simply soars 5 minutes in.Nice. "Feeling Less" has a good intro especially the guitar.It settles in with vocals followed by guitar and drums.Organ before 3 1/2 minutes.Excellent tune. "Colours" is another top three.Strummed guitar and vocals early.I'm thinking of the new ANATHEMA here.It turns dreamy after a minute.Organ after 4 1/2 minutes as it settles.Guitar follows.Incredible track. "How I Wanna Be" opens with spacey winds and the sounds of people talking in the background.Keys then reserved vocals follow.A fuller sound before 1 1/2 minutes.More powerful 3 1/2 minutes in. "Sounds That I Hear" is the other top three.Atmosphere and piano to start.Vocals follow then strummed guitar before the floating organ arrives.Gorgeous track. This album has a couple of so-so songs but the rest of this record is quite amazing.

Though I'm sure that just about everyone has a favorite song that didn't make the cut, Thomas and Nick have done an outstanding job of assembling the very best tracks from their catalog. Though certainly not perfect, the album is an unparalleled 58 minute musical experience that stands as one of the finest examples of the genre as a whole. For those of you seeking to turn all of your friends into Trailer Music junkies, this should be your weapon of choice. Were I to give every track the attention it deserves we would be here all night, so I will only take the time to comment on a few of the most outstanding pieces.

The album opens with the dramatic sweeps of “Freedom Fighters”, one of TSFH's most popular and recognizable tracks after featuring in trailers for Star Trek. The mix included on the album is the finest yet, with subtle percussion adding to the impact of the sweeping, emotionally charged theme.
“Master of Shadows” has also built up a great deal of anticipation since being featured in trailers for 2012. However, the version on the album is different then the version we are familiar with from the trailers, and the change is arguably for the worse. The version on the album features pronounced orchestral strings on top of the rock beat of the original, and at times they are simply overwhelmed and lost against the screaming chorus and pounding percussion. In addition, the smooth strings break up the sharp staccato pacing of the song. That said, the new version has been steadily growing on me, and either way it's still an absolutely fantastic listen and certainly my favorite of Nick's many contributions.
“Am I Not Human?” is the first of the two unreleased tracks on the album. Its an intriguing piece, combining an electronic techno background with a gradually growing orchestral melody. Nick lends his own voice to the track (seriously, what can't these guys do?), and the result is a somewhat haunting, unsettling piece. It's far from the best track on the album, although given the competition that still means that it's nothing short of excellent.

“Black Blade” is one of the finest action cues on the album, and it sounds even better on here then it did in the trailers, benefiting from added percussion and vocals. It begins slowly, allowing the orchestra to build up tension before finally exploding with the full choir. The next time you are outnumbered and facing a mass of enemy guinea pigs, this is the song to propel you to victory.
Though known for their pounding epic tracks, TSFH also excels at creating pieces that appeal to the inner romantic in all of us. Nowhere is this more apparent then in “Fill My Heart”, which features beautiful vocals by Aya Peard. You know the burly Gladiator on the cover? The story (as a guinea pig told me) was that he was listening to the album before the photo shoot, and when he reached this song he just collapsed to the ground sobbing and muttering “It's just so beautiful!” Naturally, a crying Gladiator doesn't make for the best album cover, so they had to keep his face in the shadows. It still took them more then 20 minutes to get the guy off of the floor and keep his mouth in a straight line.
Before concluding, I want to single out “To Glory”. Taken from an upcoming album tentatively known as “Eclipse”, this track alone is worth the price of admission. After weeks of deliberation, meditation, and leaping around my house with a cardboard sword fighting guinea pigs, I have come to the conclusion that it is possibly the best song Two Steps From Hell has ever released. It's a relentless 4 1 minute ride that will prepare you for just about anything. This is what action music was always meant to sound like.
The biggest problem with the album lies not with the music itself, but the problems inherent in digital distribution of music. Fans have been clamoring to hear this music in lossless, and there are few albums more deserving of such clarity. Unfortunately the rules set in place by distributors means that for now it is limited to lossy mp3's. Nonetheless, the music still sounds sharp and epic even with mp3 compression, and this is one album which even the most hardcore audiophiles should snatch up. It's worth it.

Ultimately, Invincible is a musical triumph and a powerful testament to just how much Trailer music has grown and matured during the past several years. There isn't a bad apple in the entire bunch, and each track will tug at your heart in its own unique and powerful manner. I won't say outright that this is the best album I've ever heard, but it ranks very highly on my list. It doesn't matter if you are a fan of trailer music or not; Invincible is likely to please any fans of orchestral and choral music (along with some who aren't particular fans of either).The next public release, Nemesis II, will no doubt raise the bar even higher. Invincible represents the vert best of Thomas and Nick's first few years at Two Steps From Hell, and if tracks like “To Glory” and “Ocean Princess” are any indication of what's coming up, we have some truly unimaginable surprises in store for us over the next few years!

Varese Sarabande has revealed the details for the upcoming soundtrack release for HBO’s Game of Thrones. The album includes the original score from the series by Ramin Djawadi, including the composer’s main title theme, which can be checked out below. The soundtrack release date has been pushed back to June 28, 2011 since our initial announcement. The album is now available to pre-order on Amazon. Game of Thrones premiered in April and is currently finishing up its first season run on Sunday nights on HBO. The show created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and starring Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Mark Addy, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley and Emilia Clarke already got picked up for a second season.

Although Sidran is known for his singing, he favors an instrumental setting on Nick's Bump; this time, Sidran uses the Hammond organ and the electric piano to get his points across -- and he savors the funkier side of post-swing jazz whether he is embracing Sonny Clark's "Blue Minor," Donald Byrd's "Black Jack," or three Eddie Harris compositions ("Listen Here," "Mean Greens," and "Cryin' Blues"). If Nick's Bump sounds dated, it is dated in the positive sense -- dated as in remembering how rewarding a particular era was and being faithful to the spirit of that era. Nick's Bump recalls a time when soul-jazz players realized that jazz was losing more and more listeners to R&B and rock -- and that the only way to win over those Marvin Gaye, Rolling Stones, and James Brown fans was to groove and be accessible. Soul-jazz, unfortunately, didn't restore the mass appeal that jazz enjoyed during the Great Depression and World War II, but it was a noble effort -- one that Sidran happily remembers on Nick's Bump, which falls short of essential but is still an infectious, enjoyably funky demonstration of what he can do in an instrumental setting. ~ Alex Henderson

Antonio has been hailed as "the Jimi Hendrix of the acoustic guitar" and his live performances have established him as one of the most charismatic and talented musicians working in the UK today, a sentiment that would be echoed by his many fans the world over.
Touch Wood develops themes touched on in previous recordings, resulting in an album that is inspired as much by Italian folk music and Pat Metheny as it is by Brazilian, Spanish and Cuban music.
Antonio has spent the last two years perfecting the set and performing live with his new quartet. The three musicians with whom Antonio has chosen to work bring another dimension to this album, and the benefits of their close working relationship are very noticeable. Jenny Adejayan on cello, Adriano Pinto on percussion and Giorgio Serci on guitar make up Antonio's quartet, accompanying him on twelve and six string guitars and his custom-made, fretless Uddan
Sabina Sciubba, who recorded once before with Antonio for the Naim Label, makes a special guest appearance on Touch Wood. Their album "Meet Me In London" met with great critical acclaim. They duet on "Mirror Mirror", which was written by Antonio and Sabina.Touch Wood also features gypsy singer Diego el Cigala, rising star of the Spanish Flamenco scene.

..The Mothership Orchestra first appears in August 2005, as a six-member orchestra, in Pozega, Serbia. At the end of the next year, they release EP “Waking the Dead”. Songs “Then She Kissed Him” and “When the Sun Wants to Show” (Something You Don’t Know) were top list number ones for a couple of weeks. The same year, TV Metropolis finds them to be The Best New Band. They release EP “Everything and Nothing Tales” (Live!) in 2007 and, soon after, the two releases have their concert debut. In 2007 TMO takes part in "Jutro ce promeniti sve" (PGP RTS, 2007), a compilation album which gathered some of the most promising bands in Serbia at that particular time.
At the beginning of July 2010 The Motherhip Orchestra releases its debut album “Song For You” for Popboks’s online label “Silos”. The first single soon to be released is “You're Amazing”.

The Mothership Orchestra je nastao kao šestoclani orkestar u avgustu 2005.godine, u Požegi ( Srbija ).
